David Ainsworth

David Ainsworth is a highly experienced professional in battery technology, currently serving as a Battery Technology Advisor in the Advanced Energy Solutions division at bp since July 2021. Previously, David was the Chief Technology Officer at OXIS Energy Ltd from October 2009 to May 2021, where responsibility included creating and managing the technology development strategy for next-generation lithium-sulfur batteries and engaging with various sectors such as automotive and aerospace. David's earlier role as a Senior Scientist involved leading a team in the development of lithium-sulfur pouch cells. David began their career with an industrial placement at Infineum in 2003, while educational credentials include a PhD in Chemistry and an M.Chem in Chemistry, both from the University of St Andrews.
