Derek Porter

Derek Porter has extensive experience in intelligence, security, and crisis management, currently serving as Senior Vice President at bp since June 2002. Previously, Derek held multiple leadership positions at bp, including Group Head of Intelligence, Security & Crisis Management, and Director roles focusing on security and crisis management for various regions. Before joining bp, Derek worked at Europol as Head of Unit and at the National Crime Agency (NCA) as Head of Specialist Crimes Unit. Derek began a law enforcement career with Tayside Police, where responsibilities covered policing from January 1987 to January 1996. Education includes attendance at Carnoustie High School from 1978 to 1984.
