Des Gillen

Des Gillen is a retired professional with extensive experience in the oil refining industry. They served as the Refinery Manager at BP Husky Toledo Refining LLC from 2018 to 2023, overseeing operations, maintenance, and safety for a facility with over 600 employees. Prior to that, they held various leadership roles at BP, including Managing Director of the BP Kwinana Refinery and Commercial VP for Global Refining. Des began their career as a Production Supervisor at Rank Hovis McDougall in the mid-1980s and holds a BSc (Hons) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde.
