Giles Mackey has extensive experience in health, safety, and sustainability within the offshore wind sector, currently serving as the Head of Health, Safety & Sustainability at bp since 2005. Former roles at bp include Regional HSE & Carbon Manager for the North Sea and Regulatory Compliance & Environment Manager, where Giles oversaw regulatory compliance and environmental risk across various upstream operations. Previous responsibilities also encompassed managing environmental programs for significant projects such as the In Salah Gas Project in Algeria, as well as developing global standards for environmental and social risk assessment. Academic qualifications include a PG Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety from Loughborough University, an MRes in Ecology & Environmental Management from the University of York, and a First Class BSc in Zoology from the University of Aberdeen.
