Joe Goodlad is an experienced Mechanical Technician with a background in the oil and gas industry. From June 2015 to August 2017, Joe completed a Mechanical Technician Apprenticeship at OPITO, achieving an SVQ Level 3 and gaining expertise in diesel engines, bearings, seals, compressors, pumps, and other equipment, alongside knowledge of crude oil and hydrocarbon gas processing. Since September 2017, Joe has been employed by BP, serving as a Mechanical Technician on board the Glen Lyon FPSO. Joe’s education includes a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree from The Open University, expected between 2021 and 2027, an HNC in Mechanical Engineering from Forth Valley College, and an SVQ2 in Engineering Operations.
