Jon Salkeld

Jon Salkeld serves as the Head of Scientific Innovation, University & External Partnerships at bp, overseeing strategic partnerships with ten universities across the UK, USA, and China. With extensive experience in technology and management, Jon previously held roles such as Technology Director for bp's Advanced Mobility Unit and Castrol innoVentures, where strategic electrification and electric mobility initiatives were developed. Prior to bp, Jon spent nine years at QinetiQ, where responsibilities spanned strategy and technology management, successfully consolidating technology groups and driving growth in various sectors. Notable early career experiences include global business management at Imperial Chemical Industries, focusing on automotive lubricants, as well as research and engineering at Schlumberger. Jon holds a PhD in Engineering & Management from The University of Manchester and a BSc Hons in Physics & Maths from the University of St Andrews.
