Jorge Blazquez

Jorge Blazquez is a seasoned economist with expertise in energy policies and renewable technologies. Currently serving as a Senior Advisor for the Energy Transition and Lead Economist at bp since October 2018, Jorge focuses on power systems and carbon markets. Previous roles include Research Fellow at KAPSARC, Manager of Corporate Development at NACE, and a Non-Resident Fellow at ESADE Geo. Jorge has also lectured on emerging markets at the Centro Internacional de Formación Financera and held positions such as Chairman of CORES and Senior Advisor at both the Ministerio de Industria, Turismo y Comercio and the Oficina Económica del Presidente del Gobierno. Jorge's career began at BBVA, where responsibilities included analyzing Latin American economies and commodity markets. Jorge holds a Doctorate in Economics and a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Business Administration from Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
