Kate Thomson

Kate Thomson currently serves as Group CFO at bp since September 2023, having previously held various senior finance roles within bp plc from May 2005 to October 2023. Notable positions include Senior Vice President Finance for Production & Operations, where Thomson led the finance team to enhance value and support business leaders. Other roles encompassed stewardship of commercial finance for Regions, Cities, and Solutions as well as group risk and insurance. Prior experience includes Group Treasurer and Group Head of Tax, overseeing tax strategy across multiple regions. Thomson is an ACA qualified professional, having earned the designation in 1991 with first-time passes and recognition as a prize winner, following education at Wolverhampton Girls High School.
