Luis Gutierrez

Luis Gutierrez is an Engineering Lead in Installation Engineering at BP, overseeing engineering practices for deepwater subsea equipment installations in the Gulf of Mexico. Graduating with honors from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey with a degree in Civil Engineering, Luis has 20 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry with notable companies such as Schlumberger, Oceaneering, and BP. Initially hired by Schlumberger in their rapid-advancement program, Luis contributed to significant projects across the Gulf of Mexico and the North Sea. At Oceaneering, they co-invented a patented pipeline cutting tool, demonstrating their innovative engineering skills. In the wake of the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill, Luis played a key role in the intervention team and was recognized as a prolific inventor of patented devices within BP.
