Mark Fitts

Mark Fitts is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the petrochemical industry, currently serving as the Director of Manufacturing Excellence for BP Global Petrochemicals since May 1988. Fitts has a strong focus on implementing world-class manufacturing processes and systems, enhancing reliability and availability, and managing capital expenditure projects. Previous roles include Plant Manager and Operations Manager, where responsibilities encompassed safety, cost management, regulatory affairs, and community relations. Fitts began a career in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant before pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Alabama and later becoming an Operations Academy Graduate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where expertise in leadership, process safety, and continuous improvement was developed.
