Matt Merrick

Matt Merrick has extensive experience in accounting and finance, currently serving as the Director of Upstream Accounting Policy at BP since March 2007. Merrick's roles at BP have included Area Controller for Angola OBO and E&A, Accounting Policy Manager, and Group Reporting Manager, where responsibilities encompassed complex IFRS accounting issues, advising on technical accounting matters, and leading a reporting team for multiple entities. Prior to BP, Merrick worked as an Internal Auditor at Halliburton, conducting audits across various regions, and as an Auditor/Accountant at Monahans, where oversight of audit teams and accounts preparation was key. Merrick holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Durham University, obtained between 2000 and 2003.
