Michael Brown

Michael Brown is a senior corporate finance leader with over 20 years of international experience in top-tier corporates and investment banks. They have served in various roles within BP Treasury, including Corporate Structuring & Funding Senior Advisor, where they developed funding strategies to optimize capital structure supporting bp's transition to an integrated energy company. Previously, they worked as a Senior Treasury Internal Auditor at Umgeni Water and held diverse positions at KPMG, Deutsche Bank, and J.P. Morgan. Michael is currently pursuing a BCom and a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting, Tax, and Auditing at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and the University of South Africa, respectively, while also maintaining membership with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. Passionate about energy transition, they believe in the enabling power of technology in finance.
