Michael Taplin is a Squad Lead and Senior Petrophysicist at BP, currently leading a multi-disciplinary team in the Discovered Resource Organisation and evaluating new oil and gas opportunities. With a history at BP that includes roles such as Reservoir Modelling Squad Lead and Senior Petrophysicist for the Northern Endurance Partnership CCS project, Michael has contributed significantly to initiatives in carbon capture and storage. Michael's earlier experience includes a position as Financial Controller for the London 2012 Olympics and various roles in petrophysics, supporting projects in regions such as the Middle East, including Iraq and Oman. Michael earned a degree in Natural Sciences with a focus on Physics and Materials Science from the University of Cambridge.
