Phil Middleton

Phil Middleton has extensive experience in environmental and social management within the energy sector, currently serving as Environment Manager at BP since November 2010. In this role, Middleton maintains an integrated view of environmental and social risks across BP's Upstream portfolio and leads a team of specialists. Prior positions include Lead Social Advisor and Social Technical Authority, where Middleton provided guidance on corporate social responsibility and human rights across various Upstream projects. Earlier experience includes serving as Non Technical Risk Manager for BP's operations in Angola and as Environmental and Social Manager for BTC Co / SCPC, overseeing environmental and social issues for major pipeline projects in the Caucasus region.
