Tao Qu serves as the Technology Director at the Castrol China Technology Center within bp since June 2021, bringing extensive experience from previous positions at BASF from October 2007 to June 2021, including roles as Head of Regional Technical Service and Head of Regional R&D and Application Center in Paper Chemicals Asia Pacific. Responsibilities included oversight of regional technology for automotive coolants, brake fluids, fuel additives, and lubricant additives, as well as leading innovation and technical teams, managing new product development and commercialization. Tao Qu began academic pursuits with a BSc in Chemistry from Peking University, followed by a Master's degree and PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from Texas A&M University and Imperial College London, respectively.
