Wei Chen

Wei Chen, CFA, currently serves as an LNG Market Strategist at bp since August 2021. Previously, Wei held the position of Senior Manager of Research and Analytics at Diomand Gas International from February 2019 to August 2021. Wei's earlier experience includes serving as the Lead Analyst of Macro Analytics at Gazprom Marketing & Trading from June 2010 to January 2019, where responsibilities included supporting short-term gas/LNG analysts and delivering global gas market outlooks. Prior roles at Gazprom included Asset Analyst and Power Modelling Analyst, focusing on long-term power analysis and modeling processes. Wei began a career as a Consultant at Ventyx from August 2006 to June 2010, providing market price forecasts and strategic investment analysis across Europe. Wei holds a Master of Science in Economics (Finance) from The University of Edinburgh and a Bachelor of Economics in Finance from Zhejiang University of Finance & Economics.
