Ariful Islam

Ariful Islam, PhD, serves as the Assistant General Manager and Lead Scientist at BRAC's Agricultural Research and Development Centre since January 2017, specializing in genetics, molecular genetics, biometrical genetics, and cytogenetics. Prior to this role, Ariful held the position of Senior Research Manager at BRAC Agriculture Research and Development Centre, focusing on agricultural development initiatives. Between June 2014 and November 2016, Ariful worked as an Assistant Professor at EXIM Bank Agricultural University Bangladesh, leading projects on developing various rice varieties and maintaining germplasms. Ariful's earlier experience includes a role as Senior Plant Breeder and Head of Research at GETCO Agro Vision Limited, where expertise encompassed genetics, plant breeding, and advanced biometrical genetics. Ariful holds a PhD in Genetics and Plant Breeding from Gazipur Agricultural University, obtained in 2012, and a Master's degree in the same field completed in 2008.
