Bill Kiwia has extensive experience in the finance and academic sectors, beginning with a role as a Bank Officer at Exim Bank (Tanzania) Limited from April 2002 to January 2004 and progressing to a Banker position at the Bank of Tanzania in 2005. After obtaining an MSc in Finance from the University of Strathclyde and a PhD in Accounting and Finance from the University of Leeds, Bill Kiwia served as a Lecturer and held various leadership roles at the Institute of Finance Management from November 2012 to March 2022. Bill Kiwia then became the Chairman of the Board at BRAC in March 2015 and was an Agg Director for the Centre for Islamic Finance from May 2013 to January 2024. Recent positions include serving as Assistant to the President in the Executive Office of the President of Zanzibar, Commissioner for Public and Private Partnership at the President's Office, and currently as Executive Director at the Higher Educational Student’s Loans Board since February 2024.
