Colt Gainey has a diverse work experience that spans several companies and roles. Colt started their career as a Research Assistant at Clemson University, where they worked on the development of a fully autonomous car and implemented Python scripts for automating image processing routines.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Colt joined Infor as a DevOps Engineering Intern, where they gained experience with various AWS technologies such as EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, and CloudWatch. Colt also worked with deployment orchestration and monitoring tools. Following this, they transitioned to the role of Development Operations Engineer, Associate, and later as a Development Operations Engineer. In these positions, Colt led the development of a monitoring service that improved the detection time of critical ERP products and achieved 24/7 deep monitoring of production regions.

Currently, Colt works as a Software Engineer at Bracari, where they contribute to the company's mission of solving important problems. Colt leads the development of AI tools and transformed a monolithic application into dockerized microservice components, resulting in improved time to market, elasticity, and recovery. Colt's work experience reflects their expertise in software engineering, development operations, and AI.

Colt Gainey holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin, beginning in 2023. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Clemson University, where they studied from 2017 to 2020. Before attending Clemson, Colt Gainey completed an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Arts at Tri-County Technical College from 2015 to 2017.

In addition to their formal education, Colt Gainey has obtained several certifications. In 2023, they completed a course on Machine Learning offered by the University of Texas through edX. Colt obtained the certification as an AWS Certified Developer – Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in October 2022. In July 2018, they completed a course titled "Finding Hidden Messages in DNA (Bioinformatics I)" through Coursera. Colt Gainey also obtained the certification for Python Data Structures from Coursera in December 2017. Additionally, they have certifications in Sumo Logic Search Mastery and Sumo Logic Security Analytics from Sumo Logic, both obtained in August 2019.
