Steven Gates

Steven Gates is the Founder and CEO of Reimagining Roseland Community Collective (R2C2), a role they have held since 2023. With 20 years of experience in transforming at-risk families and youth, they have previously served as Director of Growth at Chicago Beyond from 2019 to 2023 and held several positions, including Senior Director at Youth Advocate Programs, Inc., from 2006 to 2017. Steven also worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Chicago's Center for Youth Violence Prevention and as a Research Associate for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago. Currently, they are pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice/Police Science at Jackson State University while also serving as an Independent Consultant for Brady. Steven holds a Master’s degree in Social Work with a focus on Violence Prevention from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration, which they completed in 2018.
