Jairus A. has a diverse work experience in the field of journalism and media. Jairus started their career as an independent contributor for TheCable in 2021 and later worked as a freelance writer for HumAngle Media. In the same year, Jairus also served as an Online COP26 Climate Justice Fellow for Climate Tracker, reporting on the conference virtually.
In 2022, Jairus took up the role of a Social Media Manager at I-79 Media Consults, where they creatively developed and managed the organization's social media accounts. Jairus also worked as a freelance writer for Premium Times Nigeria, specifically focusing on tracking and reporting federal government projects through the UDEME accountability transparency project. Additionally, Jairus worked as a Director of Climate Change desk and Digital Media at Brain Builders Youth Development Initiative, where they wrote research content and managed social media accounts.
Jairus's passion for education and climate change is evident through their roles at Brain Builders and Climate Smart Nigeria. At Brain Builders, they were responsible for the organization's Climate Change desk and taught students about climate change. At Climate Smart Nigeria, Jairus participated in a Climate Leadership Fellowship where they championed climate education in Nigeria by adopting a school and teaching students about climate change.
Lastly, Jairus volunteered as a Youth End Female Genital Mutilation at YouthhubAfrica and worked as a U monitor at the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development.

Jairus A. completed their Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Mass Communication from Benue State University between 2019 and 2021. Jairus obtained several additional certifications, including one in Fact Checking and combating misinformation from Code For Africa (CfA) in September 2022. Jairus also received a Certificate of Completion for Advocacy and Mobilization to eliminate FGM in Africa from YouthhubAfrica in August 2022. Furthermore, Jairus acquired certificates of completion in Open Climate Reporting, 14 weeks of climate change school, and Climate Leadership Fellow in August and July 2022 respectively. Additionally, they received a Letter of Recommendation as an On Air Personality from Choice 93.3FM in January 2021. Jairus also obtained a Basic Certificate in Discipleship and Leadership Training Course from Dunamis International Gospel Church and a Testimonial from Word of Faith Bible Institute (WOFBI), both in October 2020. Moreover, they received a Certificate of Service as the Financial Secretary of the Mass Communication Students' Association at Benue State University in March 2020. Other certifications obtained include Investigative Journalism; News Facts and Data Reporting from TheCable, a Certificate of Primary Education from Benue State of Nigeria, and a Certified Team Leader certificate from NIFES.

Brain Builders Youth Development Initiative (BBYDI) was founded in 2014, as a student initiative on the campus of the University of Ilorin and is registered under the Corporate Affairs Commission with registration number CAC/IT/NO 119116 as a youth-based non-profit making and non-governmental organisation. We are driven by our passion and commitment to achieving good governance, promoting civic engagement and peaceful political participation, youth entrepreneurship, advancing civic liberties, and championing the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs). As an organisation we have led a series of research on women’s empowerment, gender and governance, rural livelihoods, and feminist movements in South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. We have consulted for organizations like Project Everyone (UK), Bill and Melinda Gates Funded CIVICUS Project in South Africa, KTN Global Alliance, Africa Uk, Restless Development UK, AfriLabs, Nigeria, Women IN Fintech, Netherlands and National Training Academy, Egypt. Over the years, we have built a reputation as an NGO at the forefront of demanding the formulation of youth-oriented policies through a series of advocacies and partnerships with other civil societies. Our methodology is to use data-driven analyses to seek transparency and accountability from the government. Through our innovative programmes, we have reached out to over 12 million Nigerians both online and offline. Our engagements have focused on the implementation of the SDGs, provision of quality education, empowering local communities and building an enabling environment for women's human right through training, research, storytelling, advocacy and protest.
