Daniel Bernal is currently the Lead Advisor for Research at BRANZ, where they focus on improving housing in Aotearoa New Zealand based on the best available evidence. They previously served as Manager of the Scientific and Technical Advisory for New Zealand's Ministry of Health during the COVID-19 response and held roles as Clinical Lead at Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand and Chief Pharmacist at Hawke's Bay District Health Board. Daniel was also an ADAHST Quality and Safety member at the Capital & Coast District Health Board and has extensive experience in clinical pharmacy, having worked as a Clinical Pharmacist at Launceston General Hospital. They earned both a Bachelor of Pharmacy with honors and a PhD in Medication Adherence and Service Evaluation from the University of Tasmania.
