Rhys Hurd

Rhys Hurd currently serves as GM Communications, Engagement and Channels at BRANZ, a position held since April 2024. Prior to this, Rhys held various roles at ACC New Zealand from February 2018 to April 2024, notably managing a strategic unit of 23 marketing and communications professionals and leading a digital communications team. Rhys's experience also includes serving as Principal Communications Advisor at the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade and holding positions such as Communications Account Manager at Samsung Electronics, where oversight of a media relations team across Europe was a key responsibility. Additional roles include Corporate Communications Manager at Ofcom and Communications Manager at BT, along with earlier experience as a Senior Account Executive at Harrison Cowley. Rhys holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Wales, Cardiff, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Relations from West Herts College.
