Brian Brown serves as the Chief Business Officer at Brave Software since 2016, while also founding and consulting for various startups since 2013. Previously, Brian co-founded and held multiple executive roles, including COO and Co-CEO, at Joyent from 2004 to 2013, a company known for its cloud computing solutions and later acquired by Samsung. Earlier in their career, Brian was the CEO and Founder of Raptor/IPDG, which was acquired by ITW, and Brian led an enterprise software startup, manageStar, from 2000 to 2004. Brian's journalistic experience includes serving as Deputy Editor at The Wall Street Journal and holding COO and VP positions with several human rights organizations, where significant reporting on various global issues occurred from 1991 to 1996. Brian's academic background includes degrees from Vassar College, University of Cambridge (MPhil), The London School of Economics and Political Science (General Course Economics), University of the Pacific - McGeorge School of Law (Doctor of Law), and education at Punahou School.
