Simon Townsend

Simon Townsend has been a Senior Consultant and Team Leader in Technical Services at BRE since June 2006, overseeing a team focused on sustainability topics and BREEAM processes. Townsend's extensive experience includes leading various initiatives such as BREEAM Pre-Approvals, international standards approvals, and the development of training courses and exams. Previously, Townsend served in multiple roles at BRE, including Senior Pre-Approvals and Technical Publications Specialist, and BREEAM Technical Consultant, contributing to the quality assurance of BREEAM assessments and the development of assessment methodologies. Prior to BRE, Townsend worked as a Small Business Advisor at NatWest Bank and as a Building Maintenance Clerk for the RAF High Wycombe. Townsend holds a degree in Microbial and Cellular Biology from the University of Plymouth.
