As an arts organization with a human services mission, Bread & Roses Presents brings hope, healing and joy through live music to isolated audiences in the SF Bay Area. Every day our performances brighten the lives of children in classrooms and hospital rooms; inspire adults in rehab centers, detention facilities and homeless shelters; soothe the souls of military veterans; and uplift the spirits of seniors, often alone and immobile in day care centers, senior residences and health care facilities.

To accomplish our goals, we marshal the talents of 1,400 volunteer musicians and other performers each year and present 600 live performances in some 125 facilities in eight Bay Area counties; more than one show every day of the year to 30,000 isolated audience members, 57% of whom are ethnic minorities.

In 1974, our Founder Mimi Fariña’s dream came to life as Bread & Roses Presents starting with a handful of shows with her musician friends for neighbors in need. Bread & Roses Presents has blossomed since then bringing the healing power of live music through the shared connections of a network of volunteer musicians and performing artists.

With your help we can make sure that every day of the year someone special will be touched by your generosity. Here are ways to give and get involved with Bread & Roses Presents:

VOLUNTEER: As a performer or host bring the gift of live music and other performing arts to our isolated audiences of children, youth, adults and seniors.

DONATE: Bread & Roses Presents fulfills its mission only because you and others like you give generously each year to sustain our work. Ways to give: Financial support, corporate sponsorship, in-kind contributions, and donations of professional services.
