Sofia Mesa

Sofia Mesa is an advocate focused on sustainability education, policy, and grassroots organizing aimed at creating a more equitable and healthy planet. Currently serving as the Operations Manager at Break Free From Plastic, Sofia manages member projects and resources, and has previously held roles such as Gulf South Florida Fellow at The Climate Initiative and Internship Director at Debris Free Oceans. Sofia is also a member of the Board of Directors at the Post Landfill Action Network and has been recognized with the 2021 Roberta "Bosey" Fullbright Award for environmental stewardship at the University of Miami, where they graduated with a double major in Ecosystem Science and Policy and English.
