Mario Tano

Mario Tano, MHRM, currently serves as the Assistant Director of Recruitment & Preparation at Break Through Tech, where responsibilities include managing the application and enrollment process for underrepresented students and leading student preparation initiatives. Prior experience includes over eight years as the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Advising & Project Coordination at Rutgers Future Scholars, where Mario coordinated programs, provided extensive advising to first-generation college students, and developed significant outreach and enrichment initiatives. Mario has held various roles at Rutgers University, including a Staff Educator for first-gen service trips and an advisor within student conduct and retention programs. An experienced event coordinator, Mario founded UnitedGreekPride for NYC Pride, showcasing leadership in fostering community engagement. Educational credentials include a forthcoming Doctor of Education from Rutgers Graduate School of Education, along with a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations.
