Daniel Kopp is a seasoned professional in materials science and engineering, currently serving as CEO, CTO, and Co-Founder of Queens Carbon since September 2021, where innovative hydrothermal chemistry is utilized to enhance energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. Kopp holds the title of Innovator Fellow at Breakthrough Energy and previously worked as a Research Associate at Rutgers University from August 2012 to September 2022, focusing on carbon capture, inorganic material synthesis, and lightweight composites, resulting in five pending patents. Additionally, Kopp's academic journey includes a Ph.D. and M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Rutgers University, where transformative research on hydrothermal synthesis led to the development of the Hydrothermal Vapor Synthesis method. Prior to these roles, Kopp gained experience as a Fiber Optic Technician at Chiral Photonics and as a Research Assistant within various departments at Rutgers University, contributing significantly to advancements in optical devices and ceramic materials.
