Matthieu Chapron

Matthieu Chapron is an experienced R&D Engineer with a focus on dynamic systems and mechanical engineering. Currently, at Montres Breguet SA since June 2016, Matthieu manages various R&D projects related to gear mechanisms and shock resistance in timepieces. Previous roles include contributions at INSAVALOR, where Matthieu researched the impact of scales on vibrational responses in planetary gear trains, and at Hispano-Suiza, focusing on dynamic calculation codes for planetary gear systems and conducting technology research on gears and bearings. Early career experiences include a research internship at NTN-SNR and summer positions at the University of Leeds and The Ohio State University, investigating various mechanical interfaces and power loss in high-speed systems. Matthieu holds a PhD from INSA Lyon, completing education in 2016 with a Master's research degree in Mechanical Engineering.
