Jochen Schmidt

Jochen Schmidt is the Head of Indirect Tax at Brenntag Group, a position held since 2025. With over 25 years of experience in customs, foreign trade, and excise, Jochen has held various significant roles, including Head of Customs Operations at Bayer in 2019, EAME Customs & Foreign Trade Manager at Syngenta from 2019 to 2025, and Director of Customs Affairs EMEA at LSG Sky Chefs from 2003 to 2006. Jochen is also an alumnus of the Fachhochschule des Bundes - Fachbereich Finanzen, where they earned a Diplom Finanzwirt, Zoll from 1990 to 1993. Previously, they served as a Customs Officer for the German customs authority, contributing to their extensive knowledge in the field.
