Native species of the Eastern USA.
✹ gold dollars = Critically Imperiled & Imperiled species
✹ silver quarters = Vulnerable species
✹ copper pennies = Apparently Secure & Secure species

The beginning of my artistic journey is rooted in unlearning what my mind considers to be beautiful based upon the monoculture we have been fed from imperialism / colonialism. I am relearning the species that belong in my tri-state area and healing my relationship with the land. My artwork is how I cement this knowledge within myself. When you collect my artwork, you collect a piece of my journey, a piece of the land, and a piece of environmental history. May our values change as we reflect on what we value as a society and push that to the side to instead focus on what nurtures our bodies, our local environment, and the planet at large.
