Aalia Datoo is an experienced legal professional currently serving as Executive Director and Team Lead for EMEA Litigation at UBS since March 2024, while also taking on the role of Mentor at Bridging Barriers. Prior to these roles, Aalia held positions as Senior Lawyer at Credit Suisse International and as Senior Counsel at Macfarlanes, where significant contributions included advising on mis-sale issues and defending against complex claims in the Commercial Court. Aalia began a legal career at Linklaters, progressing to Managing Associate and leading the firm's global pro bono initiatives. Aalia's academic background includes a law degree from The London School of Economics and Political Science and completion of the Legal Practice Course at BPP.

Bridging Barriers is social mobility charity supporting young people aged 16-25 to achieve career success through mentoring, virtual masterclasses and networking events. With mentoring at the forefront of what we do, we give young people access to professionals who empower them with the soft and hard skills needed to thrive. Our virtual masterclasses and networking events complement the mentoring, allowing young people to build employment networks to strengthen access to opportunities.
