La Brigada Digital de Salud is part of an integrated effort funded by National Institutes of Health Community Engagement Alliance Against COVID-19 Disparities (CEAL) and Knight Foundation through the George Washington University Institute for Data, Democracy and Politics. Our mission is to disseminate accurate, credible, science-based health information and prevention messages in Spanish on social media platforms. 
 
Why La Brigada Digital de Salud?

La Brigada Digital de Salud formed during the COVID-19 pandemic in response to the scarcity of reliable COVID-19 information available in Spanish in digital networks. The information environment also became increasingly complex, with an overabundance of both information related to COVID-19 as well as misinformation and disinformation with the potential to cause harm. Navigating COVID-19 information and discerning between sources of information that were trustworthy and untrustworthy became increasingly difficult. 
 
La Brigada Digital de Salud was established to serve as a resource for Spanish-language communities that want to make sound decisions about their health based on the latest updates from research studies and public health guidelines. Ever since, we have been keeping up with the latest on COVID-19, and helping our diverse audience to do the same.
