Derek Herrera's work experience includes founding and serving as the CEO of Bright Uro since February 2022. Derek founded UroDev Medical (formerly Spinal Singularity) in July 2015. Additionally, they founded Habit Camera in April 2020. Derek also has experience as a keynote speaker since June 2013. Derek serves as the Chairman of the Board for MedTechVets since March 2019. Derek has been the President of the Board of Directors for the Marine Raider Foundation since April 2017. Derek is a board member of the American Technion Society since January 2017. Derek co-founded the Marine Raider Challenge in October 2017, and they were involved in business development at NovaSignal (formerly Neural Analytics) from December 2014 to June 2015. Before that, they worked as a brand ambassador at ReWalk Robotics, Inc. from July 2013 to December 2014.
Derek Herrera obtained their BS in Systems Engineering from the United States Naval Academy, a degree they pursued from 2002 to 2006. Following this, they pursued an MBA in Entrepreneurship from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, which they completed between 2013 and 2015. Additionally, in 2016, Derek Herrera attended Y Combinator to further their knowledge and skills in the field of Entrepreneurship.
