Chris Young

Chris Young has extensive work experience in various software engineering and web development roles. Chris is currently working at Brighte as the Lead Software Engineer since June 2022. Previously, they worked at eCoach Author + LMS as a Full Stack Developer / DevOps advocate from March 2017 to January 2019. Before that, they were a PHP Developer at Futura Group Pty Ltd from September 2015 to March 2017.

Chris also has experience as a freelance Web Developer, where they completed projects for clients and gained skills in Symfony2, Git, and Bolt CMS. Chris worked at Webstuff.biz as a Web Developer, collaborating with a graphic designer and content manager to create custom websites using platforms like Joomla, Magento, OpenCart, and Bolt CMS.

In addition to their software engineering roles, Chris has experience in multimedia production. Chris served as a Production Manager at Operation Mobilisation's multimedia arm, OMNIvision, from October 2012 to March 2014. Chris also volunteered as a PHP Developer at Operation Mobilization, developing automated websites for local branches using WordPress and connecting them to a central international database.

Earlier in their career, Chris was an Audio Visual Team Leader on the M.V. Logos Hope, a floating book fair operated by GBA Ships e.V. Chris also worked as a Developer at Organise Internet, creating PHP web applications and specializing in interface design and database design. Before that, they were a Web Developer at Thin Systems Australia.

Throughout their career, Chris has gained experience in various technologies, including Symfony 2, AngularJs, Laravel PHP framework, and continuous integration pipelines. Chris has demonstrated expertise in web development, software engineering, project management, and multimedia production.

Chris Young attended the University of Newcastle from 2002 to 2006, where they pursued a degree in Applied Information Technology with a specialization in Digital Visual Media.
