Nigel Freitas

Nigel Freitas has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Nigel is currently serving as the Head Of Corporate Affairs at Brighte since February 2021. Prior to this, Nigel worked as the Chief Of Staff for NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet from January 2017 to August 2020. Nigel also held the position of Chief of Staff for NSW Minister for Finance, Services & Property - Dominic Perrottet starting April 2016 until January 2017, and previously worked as a Senior Media Advisor / Deputy Chief of Staff from May 2014 to April 2016.

In their earlier career, Nigel served as a Reporter for Sky News Business Channel from February 2011 to May 2014, where they focused on business and technology reporting. Before that, they worked at Westpac as a Senior Business Analyst / Project Manager from 2006 to 2011, leading operational and strategic projects across various areas of the bank. Nigel also gained experience as an Online Editor for GoodGearGuide (PCWorld) from 2005 to 2006, managing a team of journalists for a convergence technology website.

Their early career includes a tenure as a Senior Consultant at Cap Gemini from 2001 to 2005, where they worked on strategic technology projects for multinational corporations across different sectors, including retail banking, government agencies, utilities, manufacturing, and FMCG groups.

Nigel attended UNSW from 1997 to 2000, where they pursued a degree in Business Information Technology (Co-op Scholarship). After completing their time at UNSW, Nigel went on to attend the University of Technology Sydney from 2004 to 2005, where they pursued a degree in Journalism. In 2011, Nigel enrolled at the Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM) to pursue an MBA degree, and they continue their education there.
