Ciara Spillane has a diverse work experience. Ciara began their career as a Publisher for The Global Legal Post in 2014. In 2016, they worked as a Bartender for Citrus Events. In 2014, they were elected as Vice President Education and Welfare for Hertfordshire Students' Union, a full-time paid position. Her responsibilities included communication with both students and the University's senior management. In 2018, they joined Brightflag as a Senior Legal Analyst. Ciara was promoted to Team Lead - Legal Analyst Team and Legal & Business Analyst Team Manager. In their role as Senior Legal Analyst, they were responsible for managing the largest Brightflag customer accounts, including Uber and Rimini Street. Her responsibilities included being a subject matter expert on legal classification and billing guideline adherence as well as issue management.

Ciara Spillane is currently pursuing a Higher Diploma (Level 8) in Science in Computing (Software Development) at the National College of Ireland, which they began in 2020. From 2013 to 2016, they studied Law at the University of Hertfordshire, where they obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.). Ciara also attended St Gobans College, Bantry, Co.Cork, Ireland from 2006 to 2011. In addition to their formal education, Ciara has obtained a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification from TEFL GRADUATE LTD in June 2020, and a Bar personal licence from Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council in January 2017.
