Steve Shipman

Steve Shipman is a Senior Research Scientist at BrightSpec, specializing in ultrafast vibrational and electronic spectroscopy, microwave spectroscopy, and advanced resonant techniques. They have previously served as an Associate Professor of Physical Chemistry and managed a spectroscopy research group at New College of Florida from 2013 to 2021. Prior to that, Steve was an Assistant Professor and a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Virginia, where they gained expertise in molecular spectroscopy. They earned a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.A. in Chemistry with a focus on Biochemistry from Rice University.
