Bing Shen

Bing Shen is an accomplished inventor and engineer with extensive experience in optical and micro-electromechanical systems. Currently serving as a Fellow at Bright View Technologies since April 2006, Bing has developed numerous innovative alignment-less optical films, including backlight gain enhancing films, a "bat-wing generator," and solutions for angle bending and extreme hot spot hiding. Prior to this role, Bing held positions as a Senior Research Engineer at RTI International, where integration of micro thermo-electric devices was the focus, and as a Senior Development Engineer at JDS Uniphase Corporation, where efforts were centered on MEMS-based optical systems. Bing also contributed to X-ray detector technology as a Team Lead at GE Medical Systems, creating a tileable 2D configuration for CT scanners. Bing earned a Ph.D. in CMOS MEMS systems from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor's Degree in Laser and Optical Engineering from Zhejiang University.
