William Wu, Ph.D. has extensive experience in research development, manufacturing management, and battery cell development. From 2017 to present, they have served as the Director of Research Development and Sr. Manufacturing Manager at BrightVolt. From 2012 to 2016, they were the Chief Scientist at SCST, where they led an R&D team to develop advanced lithium ion batteries for consumer electronics and electric vehicle applications. William also developed and mass-produced a 2.5Ah Pouch Cell with jerry roll cell configuration for consumer electronics. From 2016 to 2017, they were the Director of Battery Cell Development at SolidEnergy Systems. From 2011 to 2012, they were the Principal Engineer at the National Institute of Clean-and-Low Carbon Energy, where they were responsible for evaluating various types of battery technologies for grid scale energy storage solutions. From 2010 to 2011, they were the CTO and Co-Founder at Fusite New Power Technology Co., Ltd., where they defined the technology and product roadmap of lithium ion battery for EV applications. From 2007 to 2010, they were the Electrochemist at Solicore, Inc. (now BrightVolt, Inc.), where they optimized the company's priority Polymer Matric Electrolyte and lithium metal battery. From 2002 to 2007, they were the Vice General Manager and Chief Technology Officer at Qingdao Aucma New Power Technology, where they led an R&D team, production engineering team, and quality team to develop and produce lithium ion battery cells. William also developed and mass-produced a series of lithium ion battery cells with jerry roll cell configuration and prismatic aluminum can for mobile phone application.

William Wu, Ph.D. earned their Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Waterloo.
