Sean McBride

Sean McBride has over 20 years of work experience. Sean started their career in 2000 as a Consultant at Digiterra. In 2003, they became a Research Assistant at North Carolina State University, working under Dr. St. Amant to develop P2A. In 2005, they became a Java Developer at FOLIOfn, where they worked on front-end Java and JSP development on a custom built VMC architecture. In 2009, they became a Software Engineer at The Washington Post Company (WaPo Labs). Sean also became an Assistant Test Manager at Evovler, Inc. in the same year. In 2013, they joined Trove News as a Software Development Manager, leading a team to classify content tweeted by users. Sean also acted as an engineer on the Trove API team. In 2015, they became the Director of Engineering at SocialCode, where they developed semi-annual and quarterly roadmaps with Product counterparts. Sean also actively managed and ran bi-weekly sprint planning sessions and daily stand-ups for two engineering tracks. In 2019, they joined Helm as an Engineering Advisor and VP of Engineering. In 2021, they became the Director of Engineering at Wellthy. Finally, in 2023, they joined brightwheel as a Senior Engineering Manager.

Sean McBride received their Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from Bucknell University in 2000. Sean then attended North Carolina State University, where they obtained their Master of Science in Computer Science in 2005 and began their PhD in Computer Science, which was incomplete as of 2008.
