David Pick

David Pick has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. David currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Brilliant, a company specializing in personal and impactful corporate gifting on a global scale. David joined Brilliant in August 2021 and is responsible for campaign design, technology development, and fulfillment of gifting experiences.

Prior to their role at Brilliant, David worked at Fast Radius, Inc. from June 2018 to January 2021. David initially joined as the Director of Software Engineering and was tasked with transforming a high-level vision into a functional digital manufacturing platform. David designed and built the core platform, recruited and grew a development team, and contributed to the overall software strategy of the company. David's efforts resulted in the creation of a web-based platform, built with Elixir and React, which enabled the entire business to operate and secure a $48 million Series B funding.

From May 2017 to June 2018, David worked at Gamut as a Lead Software Engineer - Data Platform. David developed an Elixir-based custom ETL tool for data integration from various sources into Amazon Redshift and supported data analysts and scientists in working with Redshift. David also mentored junior developers and contributed to the development of a tool for generating product descriptions.

Before Gamut, David served as the CTO and Co-founder of HumanPredictions.io, a company that utilized Ruby on Rails, Postgres, and Elasticsearch. David built and maintained the entire application stack from September 2015 to May 2017.

David gained valuable experience at Braintree from April 2013 to September 2015, where they initially worked as a Lead Software Engineer - Data Platform and later led the Data Engineering team. David developed a custom ETL tool for data extraction, transformation, and loading and managed Braintree's data warehouse, search, and reporting infrastructure.

In addition, David worked at The Greatest Good as a Software Engineer, contributing to the development of Closet in the Cloud, an online platform. David also worked as a Software Engineer at Groupon, where they implemented an access control system for internet deals, resulting in increased revenue and user engagement.

David started their career as a Software Developer, consulted on Ruby on Rails-based startups, and worked as a Research and Development Intern at Enova Financial. In these roles, they gained experience in web development, bug fixing, and credit check systems.
