Jonathan Mash

Director, Hardware Engineering at BRINC

Jonathan Mash has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Jonathan is currently serving as the Director of Hardware Engineering at BRINC since February 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Amazon from 2016 to 2023, initially as a Hardware Development Engineer for Amazon Prime Air, and later as a Sr. Hardware Development Engineer and Hardware Development Manager.

Before joining Amazon, Jonathan worked at SPARQ Systems Inc from 2010 to 2016 as a Lead Engineer. Jonathan played a key role in developing two generations of monitoring equipment for the solar PV industry.

Jonathan's early career includes working at ePOWER Lab from 2007 to 2013 as both a Masters Student and a Senior Teaching Assistant. During this time, they conducted research, designed a front-end converter and wind turbine emulator, and developed a web-based inventory system.

In 2008, they worked as a Summer Student at Ontario Power Generation, where they developed and deployed an online knowledge portal.

Jonathan's work experience also includes serving as the Project Manager for Queen's Solar Vehicle Team from 2005 to 2008, where they oversaw all aspects of a semi-professional racing team and implemented innovative approaches for power systems and team communication.

Jonathan Mash has a strong educational background in the field of Electrical Engineering. Jonathan obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (B.SC.Eng.) from Queen's University, where they studied from 2004 to 2009. Jonathan furthered their education at Queen's University by pursuing a Master of Applied Science degree (MASc.) in Electrical Engineering from 2009 to 2013.
