Alan Johnson is a retired patent lawyer who has dedicated over 38 years to advising on intellectual property rights across various industries. Since retiring in late 2019, Alan has maintained an interest in patent law while also engaging in broader legal issues, including animal welfare and pro bono work in a contentious probate case. As a highly experienced litigator, Alan has led numerous cases in the Patents Court and the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court, and is a qualified Solicitor-Advocate with full rights of audience before all UK civil courts. Currently, Alan teaches English patent litigation at the University of Hagen in Germany and has authored a publication on European patent law.
