Regional Safeguarding Manager - Wider Europe

Amir Basic is a Regional Safeguarding Manager for Wider Europe at the British Council, bringing over 14 years of professional experience in child protection and education. Amir has worked extensively with Save the Children in the North-West Balkans, focusing on human rights, child protection, and policy development, particularly concerning street-involved children. Prior to their current role, Amir held positions that included Expert Associate for Culture and Education and Child Protection Program Manager, gaining expertise in various projects aimed at supporting vulnerable children. Amir holds a Master's degree in Criminology from the University of Sarajevo and a Bachelor’s degree in Pedagogy-Psychology from the University of Tuzla.
