Mark Walker

Director of Transformation at British Council

Mark Walker is Director Transformation for the British Council. He is responsible for working with other members of the Senior Leadership Team to ensure successful and efficient organisational change to deliver the British Council’s mission and strategy over the next five years.

Mark was appointed to this role in February 2021 after leading the British Council’s East Asia region for five years, a region which includes China, Myanmar and South Korea. Prior to this, Mark was Director of British Council’s global examinations, responsible for the delivery of UK qualifications and English language assessments across the world.

He has also worked in various roles in India, Egypt and countries in Europe where he started his British Council career as a teacher of English in Slovakia.
