Alex Woods is a Consultant Orthopaedic Upper Limb Surgeon currently based in Oxford, where they serve as the Co-Founder and CEO of Newrotex Ltd, a startup focused on innovative silk-based techniques for peripheral nerve repair. Previously, Woods worked as an Orthopaedic Surgeon with the NHS from 2013 to 2024 and has been the Lead Doctor for the GB Rowing World Class Start Program since 2016. They also hold a position as a Locum Consultant in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Woods completed a Ph.D. in Zoology/Animal Biology and obtained an M.B.B.S. from the University of Oxford, where they also earned a BA (Hons) in Human Sciences.
