Nickolas Wood has been working in the technology field since 2004. Nickolas began their career as a Technician at the UNH Resnet and the UNH Research Computing Center. In 2008, they became a Systems Administrator at the UNH InterOperability Lab. In 2012, they joined Chitika, Inc. as a Systems Administrator, where they designed and deployed a fully redundant, fault tolerant data warehouse using Gluster on top of Infiniband. Nickolas was later promoted to Senior Systems Administrator. In 2015, they moved to Meltwater as a Senior SaaS Operations Engineer, where they were embedded into a development team as an operations engineer. In 2016, they joined Curriculum Associates as a Senior Operations Engineer, working primarily on back end infrastructure projects and internal tooling. In 2019, they joined Mimecast as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, where they designed and implemented a modern approach to the puppet configuration management system. In 2022, they joined Britive as a Principal Site Reliability Engineer.

Nickolas Wood began their educational journey in 2006 when they obtained two certifications from the FOA - Certified FTTx Technician and Certified Fiber Optic Technician. In 2007, they enrolled at Great Bay Community College and earned an Associates in Information Systems Technology in 2009. Nickolas then continued their education at Southern New Hampshire University and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems in 2013.
