Cathy Liu

Cathy Liu is a Distinguished Engineer and Director at Broadcom Inc., overseeing the SerDes architecture and design team since February 2016. Liu has held prominent roles within the Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF), serving as Vice President and President while concurrently working as a SerDes Architect. Prior experience includes serving as R&D Director at Avago Technologies and holding various leadership positions at LSI Corporation, including Director and Distinguished Engineer, where management of the SerDes architecture team and development of serial interface solutions occurred. Liu began as Principal System Engineer at Telegent Systems and LSI Logic Corp., contributing significantly to high-speed/low-power SerDes transceiver cores and digital television receiver systems. Liu earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University.
